Giving Back
Jules Verne Expeditions, at its very core:
- Has a focus on ecotourism. Such as “take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints”. But even more, a very low impact on the local residents and environment. And encouraging our clients to learn and practice sustainable habits throughout their life.
- Even deeper, is captured in our message ReDiscover Your Wild Side. Our modern lifestyle wreaks havoc upon the Earth. Relearning what our genetics and soul have forgotten and practicing an ancient life that is spiritual and natural and communal, would assist in returning the Earth to it’s stunning and unspoiled wildness.
- Bring Lenape Home to PA. A 30 Year Project to Bring a viable community of Lenape/Delaware Indians back to their Ancestral Homeland after 300 years. This would be the first time a displaced Eastern Woodlands Indian tribe had been returned from so far away to their home after so long (to our knowledge).
Let’s start out by saying what we do not do. We believe the most important thing is pure honesty. Many businesses and websites trumpet a list of human and green benefits, but in reality, are simply driven by profit. Some tours are about traveling 7,000 miles to “volunteer” but is really little more than picking up trash off a beach, all for only $6,000!!!
- It is “give someone a fish and they eat today” thinking. Rather than “teach them to fish and they will feed themselves forever.”
- Some people who sit at home clicking buttons on a website and doing feel-good things that have little impact. Some have called this slacktivism.
